Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Safety Engineer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Safety Engineer will develop, implement, and monitor safety plans and procedures for construction and real estate development projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities include conducting site inspections and risk assessments, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions to prevent incidents.
The role involves collaborating with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and security teams to integrate safety requirements into project planning and execution.
The Safety Engineer will also deliver safety trainings and toolbox talks, investigate incidents and near-misses, maintain safety documentation and reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives in occupational health, safety, and security across all project sites.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Safety Engineering, including risk assessment, hazard analysis, and safety management systems.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health practices, regulations, and standards relevant to construction and real estate environments.
- Experience coordinating Security measures on construction sites, including access control, emergency response, and incident reporting.
- Ability to design and deliver effective Training programs and toolbox talks related to construction safety, occupational health, and site protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Construction Safety on active job sites, including scaffolding, work-at-height, lifting operations, and equipment safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or similar) are strongly preferred.
- Coordinate approvals and compliance through relevant authorities such as:
• Dubai Municipality (DM)
- Trakhees
- Familiarity with UAE and Dubai safety regulations and standards for construction and real estate projects.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse site teams and stakeholders.
