Role Description
The Safety Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based, FIFO out of Perth.
This position is responsible for supporting and implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across operations, conducting site inspections, and assisting with risk assessments.
The role includes monitoring compliance with legislation and company policies, investigating incidents and near misses, and preparing reports with corrective and preventive actions.
The Safety Advisor will deliver or coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and inductions, and provide guidance to managers and frontline teams on safe work practices.
This role also involves collaborating with operational leaders to drive a strong safety culture, participating in audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in workplace health and safety, preferably in facilities, hospitality, resources, or related industries.
- Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, standards, risk management principles, and incident investigation methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders, deliver training, and build a positive safety culture.
- Ability to conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and to develop practical action plans.
- Proficiency in using safety management systems, reporting tools, and standard office software.
- Formal qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline (Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher) is preferred.
- Current driver’s license and valid work rights in Australia; experience in remote or regional settings is an advantage.
