Risk Operations Analyst

Overview

Accountabilities

• Evaluate merchants and partners across different risk profiles to determine suitability for participation in payment processing systems.
• Apply sound judgment to manage complex, non-binary risk decisions while balancing compliance, business needs, and customer impact.
• Monitor, analyze, and escalate risk trends, contributing insights to improve detection systems and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, enhance, and scale risk operations workflows and due diligence processes.
• Identify gaps in existing policies, systems, and tools, and recommend improvements to mitigate emerging risks.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and internal policies while maintaining process efficiency and consistency.
• Support reporting, documentation, and communication with internal stakeholders and external financial partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, operations, or a similar analytical role in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience improving and scaling operational processes with measurable impact.
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally on complex, ambiguous business problems.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and communicate insights effectively.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive initiatives independently and deliver results against ambitious goals.
• Ability to challenge existing processes and propose practical, data-driven improvements.
