Risk Manager

Position description

What you’ll do

• Lead the facility Risk Management Program and Individual Served Safety Plan.
• Investigate adverse incidents, including allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and grievances.
• Coordinate regulatory and external agency investigations, audits, and compliance reporting.
• Review daily event reports and provide analysis and recommendations to leadership.
• Analyze incident data, identify trends, and implement risk reduction strategies.
• Lead post-incident reviews, root-cause analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct quarterly suicide risk assessments and the annual Hazard Vulnerability Analysis.
• Train staff and leadership on risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Chair the Patient Safety Committee.

Education and experience

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Required experience: two years in risk management or three years in a healthcare or mental health setting.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission or other accreditation systems and patient safety is preferred.
• State-specific risk management license is preferred.
