MBME Group is looking for a strategic and experienced Risk Manager to establish, implement, and maintain an effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across the Group’s core business operations, including investment, fund management, and payment services.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all material risks — including financial, operational, liquidity, market, regulatory, cyber, and related risks — are identified, assessed, monitored, and mitigated in line with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
The ideal candidate will be capable of leading the risk function independently while working closely with executive management, the Board, and cross-functional teams across the Group.
Risk Governance & Framework
· Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group Risk Management framework in line with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices
· Establish risk appetite statements and tolerance limits
· Maintain risk policies and procedures aligned with regulatory expectations
· Ensure the three-lines-of-defense model is embedded and operational across the business
· Advise business functions on risk-related matters and regulatory developments
· Promote a strong risk awareness culture across the organization
· Support and train staff on risk management practices
Risk Identification & Assessment
· Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments
· Develop and maintain risk registers across all business units
· Perform scenario analysis and stress testing across market, liquidity, and operational risk areas
· Assess risks related to new products and business initiatives
Management Of Core Risks
· Oversee transaction risk by monitoring real-time transactions to identify anomalies, fraud patterns, and chargeback risks
· Assess operational and technology risks related to products, services, payment infrastructure, APIs, system downtimes, cybersecurity threats, outsourcing, and third-party providers
· Monitor regulatory and compliance risks, including adherence to PCI-DSS, data privacy requirements, and relevant local regulations such as CBUAE and ADGM
· Coordinate incident response and crisis management in collaboration with security and compliance teams
· Maintain and oversee the adequacy of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) measures
· Manage fraud and anti-bribery risk assessments and related reporting
· Oversee investment and financial risk exposures, including valuation controls, counterparty risks, and liquidity risk across core business operations
Reporting & Communication
· Use data-driven analysis to identify and predict emerging risks and support stronger decision-making
· Escalate material breaches and emerging risks to leadership
· Maintain Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and relevant dashboards
· Support audit and compliance reviews
· Prepare regular risk reports for Executive Management and the Board
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management, Banking, Finance, or a related field
· Professional certifications in Governance, Risk Management, or Compliance are preferred
· Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in Risk Management
· Banking experience is preferred
· Strong understanding of regional and/or international laws, regulations, and banking functions
· Knowledge of CBUAE and ADGM rules and requirements is strongly recommended
· Strong project management and control skills
· Ability to think strategically, generate ideas, and develop innovative solutions
· Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills
· Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage a demanding workload
· Preferably bilingual, with fluency in Arabic and English and strong written and verbal communication skills
· High attention to detail, integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
