Retail Representative - Burnaby - Temporary

Role and schedule

Customer service and operations

• Serve customers courteously in person and by telephone, answer inquiries, handle complaints, and resolve shipment issues.
• Upsell and cross-sell corporate products and services; assist customers with shipping details and account challenges.
• Resolve equipment and technology challenges and coordinate with head office, local management, drivers, warehouse staff, account managers, and corporate partners.
• Build relationships with customers, internal partners, vendors, and building tenants.
• Load, scan, log, and call to resolve freight; reconcile cash, make deposits, and maintain key control.

Conduct and communication

• Communicate positively with customers and partners orally and in writing, and listen to customers and key partners.
• Follow corporate policies and procedures, including uniform requirements, and adhere to safety standards.
• Maintain punctuality and attendance, demonstrate personal accountability, and represent Purolator values.

Qualifications

• English proficiency is required for frequent communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds and stand for three-hour intervals.
• Professional oral and written communication and listening skills; personal accountability and attention to detail.
• Customer service, retail, and technology or POS experience of 3–12 months are preferred.
• Team and independent work experience and experience in a safety-focused environment are assets.

Workplace

• Work is based at the Purolator retail centre at 2245 Douglas Road, Burnaby, in retail centre and warehouse conditions.
