Role overview
Experienced Retail Manager overseeing day-to-day operations at a growing artisan bakery and café in Orange, NSW.

Key duties
- Determine product mix, maintain stock levels and ensure high customer service standards.
- Develop purchasing, merchandising and marketing strategies; monitor pricing and recommend changes based on costs and demand.
- Promote bakery and café products in-store and digitally, oversee sales and assist customers with product selection and product information.
- Monitor customer demand and recommend products, services and stock requirements.
- Maintain inventory, ingredient, purchasing, sales and financial records; prepare budgets, control costs and analyse sales to support profitability and reduce waste.
- Coordinate purchasing and supplier relationships to maintain adequate supplies.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise and support staff; prepare rosters, allocate duties and monitor performance.
- Manage customer enquiries and complaints, organise daily retail operations and maintain a clean, safe, professional environment.
- Ensure food safety, workplace health and safety, hygiene, company policies and procedures are followed.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, sales, service and stock management.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience in retail management or a closely related retail management role.
- Experience supervising, training and coordinating staff, and managing stock, purchasing and inventory.
- Understanding of retail sales, customer service and daily store operations.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
- Business management qualifications are highly regarded.
- Bakery, café, food retail or similar retail experience is highly regarded.
Salary and benefits
- The description lists a salary of $85,000 plus superannuation per annum.
