Job Summary:

At MyShops UAE, Category manager plays a critical strategic commercial role, bridging merchandising, sales, supply chain, marketing & e-commerce to maximize profit and market share for the whole buying department. Leads the buying department, defines category strategy in line with the overall business goal, sets the category assortment, pricing and promotion to balance margin and volume objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the category vision, strategy and roadmap in line with the overall business goals (growth, margin, market share).
• Develop and own the P&L for the category: revenue, margin, cost, inventory turnover, shrinkage, etc.
• Manage assortment planning: identify which products to carry, lifecycle management (introduction, phase-out), pricing strategy and promotional planning.
• Partner with suppliers/brands: Lead negotiations on commercial terms (margin, rentals, rebates, marketing support), establish joint business plans (JBPs), manage vendor performance and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
• Conduct market, competitor and customer analysis: benchmark pricing and assortment, monitor consumer trends in electronics/Mobile/IT/appliances, AV and translate into actionable opportunities.
• Develop and introduce new category/product for revenue and margin enhancement.
• Lead the omni-channel (e-commerce) strategy, sourcing, pricing, promotion
• Inventory / supply chain alignment: work with supply chain/operations to ensure availability, optimise stock levels, minimise ageing and write-offs.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with marketing (campaigns), e-commerce (online channel), retail operations (stores), analytics (reporting) and finance (budgeting & forecasting).
• KPI tracking and reporting: generate regular performance dashboards, present insights and action plans to senior leadership. Coach assistant category managers/buyers, build capability and ensure strong execution.
• Risk and compliance: ensure product sourcing meets regulatory standards (e.g., electronics safety certifications), manage obsolescence, and manage vendor returns/disposals when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 7–12 years procurement experience in electronics retail/distribution
• Strong supplier negotiation and contract management expertise
• Proven experience in cost control and inventory optimization
• Knowledge of import/export and regulatory compliance
• Strong analytical and financial acumen
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
