Resident Engineer (Marine)

Role overview

What you’ll do

• Lead supervision of dredging, reclamation, and marine edge works.
• Manage and coordinate site engineers and inspectors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, approved methods, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Review technical submissions, RFIs, method statements, materials, and inspection requests.
• Resolve site and technical issues and coordinate adjacent civil and infrastructure interfaces.
• Track progress, constraints, programme, and performance; coordinate inspections, testing, quality records, snagging, and handover.
• Liaise with the Client, Contractor, project management team, and other stakeholders.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Marine, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant construction experience, including significant marine works experience.
• Proven supervision of dredging, reclamation, marine edges, and associated civil or structural works.
• Strong construction supervision, quality, HSE, and inspection knowledge.
• Able to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies and resolve site issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and contractor coordination skills.

Desired skills and experience

• Resident Engineer or Senior Construction Engineer experience on major marine projects is desired.
• Large-scale dredging, reclamation, and marine edge delivery experience is desired.
• Major infrastructure or waterfront development experience in the UAE or Middle East is desired.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of construction records, progress, and change management are desired.
