Resident Engineer (Marine)

Role overview

What you will do

• Supervise marine works, including dredging, reclamation, and marine edges.
• Manage and coordinate site engineers and inspectors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, methods, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Review technical submissions, RFIs, method statements, materials, and inspection requests.
• Resolve site and technical issues and coordinate adjacent civil and infrastructure interfaces.
• Monitor progress, identify constraints, and report programme and performance.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, quality records, snagging, and handover.
• Liaise with the client, contractor, project management team, and stakeholders.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Marine, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant construction experience, including significant marine works experience.
• Proven supervision experience with dredging, reclamation, marine edges, and associated civil or structural works.
• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, quality, HSE, and inspection processes.
• Able to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies and resolve site issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and contractor coordination skills.

Desired experience

• Previous Resident Engineer or Senior Construction Engineer experience on major marine projects is desired.
• Experience on large-scale dredging, reclamation, marine edge works, or major UAE/Middle East infrastructure and waterfront developments is desired.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of construction records, progress, and change management are desired.
