Resident Engineer – Interchange

Role overview

Project management and supervision

• Lead site supervision for metro interchange stations and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor contractor performance against approved drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, MEP, rail systems, roads, bridges, and utility-diversion works.
• Track schedules and milestones; identify risks and develop mitigation measures.

Technical oversight and quality

• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and inspection requests.
• Ensure compliance with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, and international rail transit standards.
• Resolve construction and engineering issues and coordinate project interfaces.
• Oversee QA/QC, HSE practices, audits, inspections, and corrective actions for non-conformances.

Contract administration and stakeholders

• Review contractor claims, variations, extension-of-time requests, and payment applications; verify work and certify invoices.
• Maintain project records and support dispute resolution and contract compliance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, utility authorities, and government agencies.
• Attend progress meetings, guide project teams, and prepare weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• 12–15 years of construction supervision and project management experience.
• At least 5 years in metro, railway, transportation, interchange station, or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts and large multidisciplinary projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
• A master’s degree is an advantage.
• PE, CEng, PMP, or equivalent certification is preferred.
