Resident Engineer

Job Description

• We are seeking a
• Resident Engineer to
• oversee all utility-related works on the GEC Project .
• The role will ensure compliance with design, specifications, and authority standards while supervising site teams and coordinating with key stakeholders.
• Act as the Engineer’s Representative on site and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Review and approval of contractor submittals including:
• Monitor project progress, quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors to resolve site issues.
• Chair and attend site coordination meetings, inspections, and progress meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and applicable codes/standards.
• Review contractors’ claims, variations, and technical queries (RFIs).
• Identify construction risks and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Liaise with local authorities and utility agencies as required.
• Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Ensure all works comply with HSE regulations and WSP quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years’ experience, including 7+ years in an RE role on large infrastructure/ projects.
• Strong knowledge of local authority approval processes.
• Previous GEC/Ashghal project experience is highly desirable.
