As a Resident Capital Project Engineer will be a part of the Facility Operations & Engineering team, dedicated to delivering capital projects that enhance facility infrastructure, utilities, production systems, and technology assets.

In this role you will manage projects from concept through commissioning while serving as the contractor’s designated representative for construction activities.

This includes providing technical leadership in design, ensuring safe and compliant execution, and acting as the primary liaison between the contractor, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

The Capital Project Engineer will ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Manage capital projects from concept development, design, procurement, and construction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Prepare project justifications, scope documents, cost estimates, and schedules to support capital expenditure requests.
  • Provide technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, utilities, or facility systems to ensure robust and reliable designs.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, EH&S, and quality teams to ensure stakeholder requirements are met.
  • Develop bid packages, evaluate vendor proposals, and manage external contractors and consultants.
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements, as well as company standards.
  • Conduct engineering reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations to improve project outcomes.
  • Manage project documentation including design drawings, equipment specifications, and commissioning protocols.
  • Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) processes for new systems and modifications.
  • Act as the contractor’s designated representative during construction activities, ensuring clear communication between contractors, subcontractors, and the owner.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction management, including contractor supervision, safety compliance, quality control, and schedule adherence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce project costs, improve execution timelines, and enhance system reliability

Or

  • High School Diploma/GED (completed prior to start) AND six (6) years of experience in capital project management, process engineering, product engineering, and/or manufacturing engineering in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
