Overview
- The Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU Q) is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support the research program spanning the laboratories.
Younis Lab Responsibilities
- Conducting experiments on the role of minor intron splicing in breast cancer.
- Setup and optimize new techniques, including but not limited to immuno fluorescence and colony formation assay.
- Required experiments and techniques are in the areas of Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics and Biochemistry.
- Data analysis.
- Supervise other researchers in the lab.
- Assist in writing reports and manuscripts.
- Setup next generation sequencing experiments (RNA Seq).
- Analyze and confirm RNA seq results.
Naik Lab Responsibilities
- Working on several aspects of the project titled 'Investigating PARP inhibition in colorectal cancer cell lines and combinatorial approaches to improve sensitivity'.
- Contribute to laboratory based research involving mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques, functional assays, data analysis, and laboratory management.
- Mentoring undergraduate researchers, maintaining laboratory records, writing manuscripts and supporting collaborative research projects.
