Job Summary

  • A research assistant position is available in the laboratories of Dr.
  • Osama Aldirbashi and Dr.
  • Fatma Al Jasmi, Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University.
  • The position is to develop novel analytical methods for small molecule analysis to investigate various inborn errors of metabolism.
  • The position involves preparation of biological samples, acquiring data on state-of-the-art liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry, and analyzing the data obtained using advanced analysis softwares.
  • The position is supported by a grant from the United Arab Emirates University initially for one year.
  • Salary is tax-free, commensurate with training and experience.
  • Interested candidates should submit electronically their curriculum vitae, one page summary of research goals and names of at least three references to UAEU careers website.
  • The successful candidates should have at least an MSc degree in bioanalytical chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Hands on experience in liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry is required.
  • In addition, the successful candidate should have research experience in more than one of the following areas: HPLC, GC-MS, tissue culture, enzyme assays, molecular techniques (PCR, qPCR) and analytical method development.
