Research Assistant

About This Role

Job Description Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant on a 6-month contract (renewable) to join the research on “Breast Cancer related project” at the Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. Standard Duties of the Post The successful applicant will be involved in fieldwork including recruitment, data collection, and data management, and will also support the research team in a wide variety of research activities. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruit and interview study participants.
• Support the Principal Investigator and research group in the implementation of the research project.
• Support the development of proposals for research funding/ ethics applications if required.
• Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group and the Institute.
• Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and research team.
• Assist in qualitative and quantitative data analysis using analysis software/s.
• Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports abstracts, etc.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in public health Epidemiology or a related field.

Preferred Qualification Postgraduate degree or in the process of obtaining a postgraduate degree in public health or epidemiology

Expected Skills

• Excellent computer and numerical ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Demonstrated awareness of cultural, privacy, and confidentiality issues.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills and flexibility with working hours.
• Good skills in SPSS.
• Good skills in NVivo.
• Previous experience in research proposal writing and published papers.

Salary Range

3000 - 5000 based on Qualification and Experience
