Research Analyst

Role overview

What you will do

• Collect, audit, and maintain data on properties, lease transactions, availabilities, developments, and ownership.
• Publish Calgary office market reports and presentation decks covering Downtown, Beltline, and Suburban submarkets.
• Analyze executed lease transactions and building stacking plans to evaluate tenant movement, scale, and industry clustering.
• Update research databases and Excel models weekly, and lead quarterly market reviews with local brokers.
• Create market visualizations and GIS-based thematic maps using JLL mapping and analytics tools.
• Present market research to internal brokerage teams and external clients.
• Use technology and AI applications to streamline data collection, auditing, and reporting.

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database management systems.
• Demonstrated data collection, auditing, validation, and organizational capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Self-starting work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong interest in economic market drivers, urban development, and the Calgary commercial real estate market.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience or familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau and GIS mapping applications.
• Prior experience in commercial real estate research, data analysis, or market tracking.
• Exposure to workflow automation or artificial intelligence tools for reporting and data administration.

Location and workplace

• The role is onsite at JLL’s downtown Calgary office.
