Overview
Summary: The Contract Engineer (Civil) plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of civil construction projects within the GCC region by managing all contractual, commercial, and administrative aspects.
This position is essential for maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting seamless project delivery through effective coordination with project managers, consultants, and clients.
The engineer will oversee contracts from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives, UAE regulations, and FIDIC standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer contracts for ongoing civil projects throughout their lifecycle
- Review tender documents, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and technical specifications
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, and project agreements with precision
- Handle variations, claims, and extension of time (EOT) submissions and negotiations
- Coordinate closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure alignment
- Ensure all project activities comply with UAE standards and contractual obligations
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all contract-related processes
- Provide support to project and commercial teams as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the GCC region
- Proven understanding of construction contracts and FIDIC conditions
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach
