The Remote IT Technician provides technical assistance by diagnosing computer issues, troubleshooting software problems, and helping maintain reliable IT systems.
The role responds to support requests, guides users through solutions, and assists with routine system maintenance using remote support tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support for hardware, software, and common system issues; respond to inquiries and assist users with solutions.
- Troubleshoot operating system, application, connectivity, and peripheral issues, and guide users through troubleshooting steps.
- Assist with software installation, configuration, updates, routine maintenance, and system performance monitoring.
- Document requests and resolutions, escalate complex problems, and assist with user accounts and basic access requests.
- Follow IT procedures and maintain the confidentiality of user information.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional IT, computer science, or related education is an advantage.
- Basic computer, operating system, and software knowledge; familiarity with Windows, internet connectivity, and basic troubleshooting.
- Clear communication, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn support tools and procedures.
- Ability to manage requests, follow instructions, keep accurate records, and work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet access; previous IT support experience is beneficial but not essential for suitable entry-level candidates.
- Responsible, adaptable, and committed to providing helpful technical support.
