Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Originate and develop new SME and commercial financing relationships across the UAE.
• Build and manage a portfolio of SME clients needing short-term working capital and trade-related financing.
• Generate opportunities through personal networks and lending and origination platform partners.
• Understand prospective clients' businesses, financing needs, trading activity, and financial position.
• Prepare and submit financing proposals for internal assessment and approval.
• Assess prospective clients commercially and financially and identify transaction and counterparty risks.
• Coordinate with the credit team throughout assessment, approval, and financing.
• Maintain origination partner relationships and convert platform leads into financing opportunities.
• Manage client relationships through the financing lifecycle and deepen suitable customer relationships.
• Maintain a high-quality financing pipeline and appropriate credit and risk standards.
• Contribute to the SME financing proposition, processes, and go-to-market approach.
• Meet agreed annual origination, portfolio, and revenue targets.

Experience and requirements

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in SME banking, business banking, commercial banking, or SME financing.
• Approximately 3–5 years of UAE market experience and strong understanding of the local SME landscape in banking, financing platforms, or microfinance institutions.
• Direct experience originating and managing financing facilities for SME and commercial clients.
• Experience with financing requirements typically around USD 1–2 million or below.
• Strong understanding of working-capital financing, especially for trade and cross-border businesses.
• An established UAE SME network and client portfolio is sought, ideally with approximately 30–40 relevant client relationships or prospects.
