Regulatory Compliance MLRO

About This Role

OSL are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance & MLRO to lead AML/CFT and broader compliance frameworks for our UAE operations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring regulatory adherence across digital assets, broker-dealer activities, and payment flows , while managing financial crime risks in a fast-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the AML/CFT framework , including controls for virtual asset transfers, wallets, and cross-chain transactions
• Act as the primary liaison with UAE regulators and FIU , managing goAML reporting and regulatory communications
• Review, assess, and approve STRs/SARs , with a strong focus on on-chain transaction analysis
• Oversee CDD/EDD, Virtual Asset Due Diligence (VADD), and KYT monitoring , leveraging blockchain analytics tools
• Lead Institutional Risk Assessments (IRA) and provide regular reporting to senior management and Board
• Ensure compliance with sanctions regimes , including wallet screening and asset freezing
• Coordinate internal and external audits , ensuring timely remediation of any gaps

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in AML/CFT, financial crime, or regulatory compliance , with at least 3 years in digital assets
• Proven experience as MLRO / Deputy MLRO / Head of Compliance within the UAE
• Strong familiarity with UAE regulators (VARA, ADGM, ESCA or equivalent) and licensing frameworks
• Experience across digital assets, broker-dealer environments , and preferably crypto-related payments
• Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic)
• Strong understanding of UAE AML laws, FATF guidelines (incl. VASP), and virtual asset regulations
• Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken)

Preferred Profile

• Balanced experience across traditional finance and emerging crypto/payment ecosystems
• Familiarity with DeFi, stablecoins, and cross-border payment risks
• Background in both Legal & Compliance is a strong advantage
