Qualifications

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Education:
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Additional Preferences
  • Recent experience in Progressive Care/Step Down experience preferred
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred like Supervisory (minimally charge/preceptor experience)
  • Critical Care, ICU or previous Step Down experience required
  • BSN strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Nurse Manager in leading daily operations of the Medical Progressive Care Unit and coordinating safe, timely patient care.
  • Assess patient needs and help staff prioritize care for patients with complex, changing conditions.
  • Assign and delegate responsibilities based on patient needs and staff skills, providing clinical guidance throughout the shift.
  • Partner with unit leadership to uphold care standards, review quality measures, and carry out improvement plans.
  • Help hire, orient, coach, develop, and evaluate nursing staff to build a strong, supportive team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
