Job Details Job ID: 5790543 Application Deadline: Jul 15, 2026 4:00 PM (Central Standard Time) Re-Posted: Jul 2, 2026 Starting Date: Aug 12, 2025 Locations Elevate Learning Center - West Des Moines, Iowa Job Description Position Criteria: - Associate's degree or equivalent experience with completed coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or related fields, preferred - Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Performance Criteria: - Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the student of social interaction with the RBT - Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills - Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding - Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations) - Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording - Collaborates with Elevate Learning Center staff to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment - Assisting with skill acquisition activities, including teaching skills and reinforcing learned behaviors under the direction of the special education teacher. - Reassessment as appropriate in alignment with IEP. Physical Demands: The Special Education Associate job demands require: occasional maximum lift of 25 lbs from floor to waist; occasional maximum carry of 25 lbs for 30 ft; occasional maximum horizontal push/pull force of 40 lbs; occasional grip force of 30 lbs; frequent bend; frequent crouch; frequent neck rotation; frequent trunk rotation; frequent standing; frequent walking; occasional forward reach; occasional overhead reach; occasional lateral/sideways reach; occasional hand coordination; occasional fine motor coordination; occasional sitting; occasional crouch/kneel.
