Regional Operations Manager

The opportunity

People and leadership

• Set clear expectations for Home Managers and hold regular, purposeful performance conversations.
• Coach leaders to build engaged, accountable teams, improve retention and reduce agency reliance.
• Strengthen succession planning and support recruitment and onboarding of Home Managers and senior colleagues.
• Work with HR colleagues on employee relations, workforce risks and positive workplace culture.

Quality and resident experience

• Maintain a regional view of quality, safeguarding, complaints, incidents, audits and regulatory action plans.
• Act early when standards slip and ensure improvement plans have ownership, pace and evidence of sustained progress.
• Work with Quality colleagues to support positive inspection outcomes and embed learning across homes.
• Keep residents and families at the centre of operational decisions.

Performance, growth and operations

• Lead regional business reviews and turn data into focused actions for each home.
• Deliver agreed occupancy, revenue, profitability and cost targets.
• Support Home Managers to improve enquiry conversion, reputation and local relationships.
• Build partnerships with commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Oversee material estates, health and safety and business continuity risks; prioritize, escalate and complete actions.
• Provide rota-based on-call support, including weekends and bank holidays.

What you will bring

• Proven multi-site operational leadership in the care home sector, for example as a Regional Operations Manager, Regional Director or Area Manager.
• Current RGN or RMN registration is preferred and supports clinical leadership across nursing, dementia and mental health services.
• Strong working knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and quality improvement.
• Evidence of improving care quality, leadership capability, occupancy and financial performance across more than one service.
• Confidence with difficult conversations, sound decisions and calm leadership under pressure.
• Strong commercial judgement, budget management and effective use of performance information.
• A practical, coaching-led style and ability to travel regularly across the region.

Salary

• Salary is £70,000 per annum.
