Regional Financial Controller

Role overview

Financial control and reporting

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across MENA entities.
• Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow reports, and commentary on risks and actions.
• Maintain general ledger, chart of accounts, master data, and intercompany balance integrity.
• Apply Group accounting policies and IFRS requirements consistently.
• Lead statutory audits and coordinate financial statements and external reporting.
• Support accounting, tax, and entity assessments for contracts, bids, and cross-border activity.

Treasury, controls and systems

• Maintain short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts and support funding and liquidity decisions.
• Review receivables, collections, billing, payables, payments, bank reconciliations, and treasury controls.
• Ensure accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance across MENA.
• Maintain and improve controls over purchasing, suppliers, expenses, payroll inputs, payments, and balance sheet accounts.
• Own NetSuite use and development, automate finance processes, and document key procedures.

Team leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of three.
• Set responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations, and maintain cross-cover for key finance activities.
• Build effective relationships across leadership, business units, project teams, Group Finance, HR, Operations, banks, auditors, and advisers.

Experience and qualifications

• Qualified accountant with at least 10 years of relevant finance experience.
• Significant multi-entity, multi-currency financial controllership experience in the Middle East, particularly UAE and Saudi Arabia.
• Strong IFRS, reporting, audit, tax compliance, treasury, and working capital knowledge.
• Project-based services business experience is essential.
• Sports, entertainment, events, sponsorship, marketing, media, or agency experience is highly desirable.
• Automation or AI experience is beneficial, and Arabic skills are advantageous but not essential.
