Regional Curriculum & Instruction Specialist

‖ Qualifications Required

• Master's degree or higher in education, special education, educational leadership or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid CA state education specialist (mild-mod or mod-severe) credential.
• Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
• Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment and management of curriculum, content areas and instructional practices.
• Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in special education services, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making and working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
• Highly skilled in working with students with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
• Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs that help move them toward realistic goals.
• Knowledge and understanding of CA state and/or national education content standards.
• Prior experience and highly skilled in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education support staff.
• Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
• Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving and decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
