The Project

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia.

This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

The Recovery Director shall be responsible for leading and driving the recovery of a distressed or underperforming project through the proactive monitoring, management and coordination of the Main Contractor, subcontractors, consultants and associated stakeholders.

The role is focused on restoring confidence in project delivery by implementing robust planning, progress monitoring, resource management, coordination, reporting and recovery initiatives to ensure achievement of contractual milestones, sectional completion dates, operational readiness requirements and overall project completion.

You'Ll Be Responsible For

  • Review and assess the contractor’s baseline programme, recovery programme, critical path, sequencing and milestone strategy.
  • Monitor progress against approved schedules, contractual milestones, and recovery targets. Identify delays, productivity issues, logic deficiencies, coordination failures and resource constraints impacting delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project recovery and mitigation strategies. Validate programme updates, look-ahead schedules and recovery initiatives submitted by the contractor.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance across all disciplines and work fronts. Identify underperforming subcontractors and recommend corrective actions or replacement strategies where required.
  • Ensure subcontractor interfaces, work sequencing and trade coordination are effectively managed.
  • Chair and lead recovery, coordination and performance meetings.
  • Monitor workface availability, access constraints, design impacts, procurement delays, testing and commissioning readiness and authority approvals.
  • Coordinate with consultants, designers, contractors, operators and authorities to remove obstacles to delivery.
  • Support assessment of recovery-related costs, acceleration measures and mitigation proposals.
  • Provide input into contractual notifications relating to delays, non-performance, or recovery obligations.
  • Monitor impacts to sectional completion, taking over milestones, operational readiness and stakeholder interfaces.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience in large-scale construction and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Primavera P6, critical path analysis, recovery planning, construction sequencing, testing and commissioning, operational readiness and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors and subcontractors on large multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience within hospitality, entertainment, infrastructure, or giga-project environments preferred.
  • Experience within delivery partner / PMC environments preferred.
  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
