Overview

Job Summary – Receptionist / Patient Services Officer

Responsible for welcoming and assisting patients, managing appointments, handling calls and emails, maintaining patient records, processing billing and insurance transactions, and ensuring smooth front-desk operations while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and guide patients to the appropriate departments.
  • Register new patients and update existing records.
  • Manage appointments, confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and process payments/co-payments.
  • Prepare invoices, collect outstanding balances, and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Support daily cash handling and financial reconciliation procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality, patient safety, and compliance with healthcare policies.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and provide professional customer service.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any relevant field.
  • 1–2 years of healthcare or customer service experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
