Responsibilities

• Lead the systems engineering activities for all rail subsystems during early project stages (Stage 1–3: concept, preliminary design and tender preparation)
• Develop and manage system requirements, system architecture and technical concepts for all rail domains
• Establish and oversee interface management processes between subsystems, infrastructure and external stakeholders
• Guide the preparation of key systems engineering deliverables (e.g.

requirements

• specifications, interface definitions, verification and validation plans)
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure alignment with project objectives, timelines and quality requirements
• Support preparation of tender documents, technical specifications and evaluation of bids from a system perspective
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality and system assurance standards throughout design development
• Act as main contact for the client on all system-related topics during early project development

Qualifications

• University degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transport Engineering or a comparable field
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in railway/metro infrastructure projects, including a strong focus on systems engineering and integration
• Proven experience in managing system requirements, interfaces and integration of complex technical systems
• Solid knowledge of systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, verification and validation)
• Experience in integrating key rail subsystems such as signaling, traction power, rolling stock, and communications
• Good understanding of international standards related to system assurance, safety and reliability (e.g. RAMS principles)
• Experience in early project phases (feasibility, concept, preliminary design) with focus on system definition
• Strong coordination and communication skills in multidisciplinary and international project environments
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with fluency in English (written and spoken) and ability to work in an international project environment
