Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Ultrasound Technologist based at Al Dwadmi General Hospital, Saudi Arabia.
The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for independently operating ultrasound imaging equipment and performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with international standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in OB/Gyn ultrasound imaging, with preference given to candidates who also possess experience in General, Pediatric, and Vascular ultrasound examinations.
The technologist will play a critical role in supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning by delivering precise, timely, and patient-centered imaging services.
Key responsibilities include preparing, positioning, and educating patients regarding imaging procedures; selecting appropriate imaging techniques; ensuring patient safety and comfort during examinations; maintaining accurate patient records and imaging documentation; and collaborating closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
The candidate will also participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain excellence in diagnostic imaging services.
Responsibilities further include troubleshooting and reporting equipment malfunctions, maintaining imaging equipment and supplies, adhering to infection control and radiation safety standards, and maintaining high ethical and professional standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently with high clinical accuracy and professionalism.
- Conduct ultrasound imaging procedures in OB/ Gyn, General, Pediatric, and Vascular imaging.
- Prepare, position, and instruct patients appropriately prior to imaging procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety throughout all examinations.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols and techniques to achieve optimal diagnostic quality.
- Accurately enter, maintain, and update patient records and imaging documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Adhere to hospital policies, quality standards, infection prevention protocols, and safety regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance, departmental audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor imaging equipment performance and promptly report equipment issues or malfunctions.
- Maintain clinic inventory and ensure adequate imaging supplies are available.
- Maintain professional competency through continuing education, workshops, seminars, and professional development activities.
- Demonstrate strong medical ethics, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality patient care.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or department management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Obstetrics and Oncology ultrasound imaging.
- Experience in General, Pediatric, MSK and Vascular ultrasound examinations is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Ultrasound is an advantage.
- Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong proficiency in radiology and ultrasound imaging techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of patient care practices, diagnostic imaging standards, and safety protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of diagnostic accuracy.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge.
