About This Role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled
Radio Manager
to oversee the planning, deployment, operation, and support of
TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio)
and
Private Mobile Radio (PMR)
communication systems for large-scale event operations and enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in
TETRA configuration, spectrum management, telecom infrastructure, fleet mapping, radio distribution operations, and user support
.
The role involves managing end-to-end radio communication services, ensuring uninterrupted communication across venues, and supporting users with technical training and operational assistance.
TETRA & Radio Infrastructure Management
- Provision and manage TETRA indoor infrastructure for non-official and non-competition venues.
- Install and configure TETRA handsets, accessories, repeaters, antennas, and telecom equipment.
- Develop and maintain TETRA fleet mapping to control communication between different user groups.
- Configure and manage:
• GPS Tracking Systems
- Radio communication channels
- Portable telecom equipment
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and concept designs for radio communication systems.
- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of PMR/TETRA systems across all assigned venues.
Telecom Engineering & Operations
- Coordinate telecom engineering activities including design, installation, testing, and operations.
- Collaborate with business units to identify TETRA communication requirements and priorities.
- Assist in evaluating telecom hardware and software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications and radio communication issues.
- Support spectrum management services and ensure compliance with telecom regulations.
User Support & Training
- Provide technical support to TETRA users within Radio Distribution Rooms (RDRs).
- Deliver end-user training on:
- Switching between channels
- Using TETRA headsets and accessories
- Understanding radio groups and communication concepts
- Radio device buttons and functionalities
- Support users with radio-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
Asset & Distribution Management
- Manage the TETRA Asset & Distribution System (TADS).
- Track radio devices and peripherals using serial numbers and asset records.
- Support distribution and collection of TETRA devices during operations/events.
- Monitor equipment condition and update status in the TADS system.
- Coordinate replacement of batteries and faulty accessories.
- Maintain accurate inventory and reporting of damaged, lost, or returned devices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation for TETRA configurations and telecom systems.
- Prepare operational reports, asset reports, and technical documentation.
- Ensure proper record keeping for all telecom activities and radio assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
Required Experience
- Minimum
- 12 years of experience
- in telecommunications or radio communication systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
• Private Mobile Radio (PMR) Services
- Spectrum Management
• Telecom Infrastructure Solutions
- Fleet Mapping
• Telecom Engineering & Support
- Experience conducting site surveys and implementing radio communication solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale events or enterprise communication environments is preferred.
