Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Radio Engineer
with strong expertise in
TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) and Private Mobile Radio (PMR) systems
to support communication infrastructure for large-scale events.
The role involves
designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting radio communication systems
, ensuring seamless and reliable communication across event venues.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in
spectrum management, telecom infrastructure, and radio system operations
.
1. TETRA System Design & Configuration
- Configure and manage
- TETRA communication systems
- Develop and maintain:
- Fleet maps
- Talk groups
- Communication hierarchies
- Design solutions based on operational and user requirements
2. Radio Infrastructure Deployment
- Install and configure:
- TETRA base stations
- Indoor radio infrastructure
- Handsets and accessories
- Support deployment in:
- Competition venues
- Non-competition venues
- Temporary event locations
3. Spectrum & Telecom Management
- Manage and monitor
- spectrum allocation and usage
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards
- Support telecom infrastructure planning and optimization
4. Operations & Technical Support
- Provide technical support in
Radio Distribution Rooms (RDRs)
- Troubleshoot issues related to:
- Connectivity
- Devices
- Signal quality
- Support live event communication needs
5. Asset & Device Management
- Manage
TETRA Asset & Distribution System (TADS)
- Track:
- Radio devices
- Batteries
- Accessories
- Oversee distribution, collection, and status tracking (good/damaged/lost)
6. User Training & Support
- Train users on:
- Device operation
- Channel switching
- Communication protocols
- Provide guidance on:
- Talk group usage
- Device handling and troubleshooting
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain documentation for:
- TETRA configurations
- Fleet mapping
- System architecture
- Generate reports on device usage, incidents, and performance
8. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with:
- IT teams
- Event operations teams
- Telecom vendors
- Gather requirements and support communication planning
