Requirements

  • Education: Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering (or relevant field), master’s degree holders with 5+ years of academic/industrial research experience in power systems simulation.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on real-time simulation of power systems simulation
  • Required knowledge: Strong understanding of power system simulation, including applications, modeling and numerical methods. Strong experience with power systems simulation tools such as OPAL-RT’s eHS, PLECS and SPS or OPAL-RT’s HYPERSIM, RT-LAB and PSCAD. Strong experience with MATLAB, Simulink and relevant toolboxes for power systems simulation. Understanding of concepts of FPGA implementation of numerical methods and algorithms for power system simulation.
  • Language skills: Strong oral and written communication skills in English. French and/or German are a plus.
  • Required skills Ability to inspire confidence and gain buy-in through expertise and clear technical reasoning. Strong problem solving, design, analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking, coming up with creative solutions on testing approaches in critical timelines. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Proficient at writing process documentation. Highly autonomous and proactive in identifying improvements
  • Assets:
  • Hardware and interfacing experience for hardware-in-the-loop testing of power electronic controllers.
