About Tate

Tate develops and manufactures data centre infrastructure solutions and commercial office raised access floors.

Tate operates within Kingspan Group and describes a sustainability mission focused on a net-zero-emissions built environment.

Role overview

The Quantity Surveyor provides commercial control and supports successful, cost-effective project delivery in accordance with contractual terms.

The role is based at Tate's Dubai office and supports installations across data centres in the Middle East.

Most work is Dubai-based, with some travel for client meetings and site visits; international travel of 15–25% is expected.

Key responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, identify requirements and risks, prepare work schedules, and quantify Bills of Quantities.
  • Visit sites, record observations and photographs, consult with the Contracts Manager, and account for findings in tender pricing.
  • Review project budgets and allowances with Project Managers and assess whether the construction period can be reduced.
  • Manage procurement of subcontract packages, labour-only packages, and suppliers; prepare labour, plant, and material budgets.
  • Produce forecasts comparing actual costs with planned costs; prepare monthly valuations and invoices with claim and variation support.
  • Manage variations and additional-work records to support revenue recovery; compile, submit, and negotiate final accounts.
  • Prepare subcontract documents, help appoint subcontractors, settle their final accounts, attend pre-contract meetings, and resolve queries.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Construction industry experience is required; data centre experience is preferred, with hyper-scale, oil and gas, and industrial experience also noted.

Skills and working approach

  • Strong communication, commercial and financial awareness, customer service, and interpersonal skills are expected.
  • Able to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team, manage time, and prioritise tasks.
  • Must be willing and able to travel internationally 15–25%.

Integrated management responsibilities

  • Follow company policies, including the Employee Handbook, Group Code of Conduct, compliance policies, and Integrated Management System policies.
  • Support quality, health and safety, environmental, and product compliance objectives; promptly report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, quality issues, and compliance concerns.
  • Participate in required training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
