Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quality Engineer role based in Umm Al-Quwain, United Arab Emirates.
The Quality Engineer will oversee and improve quality processes across design, manufacturing, installation, and service of crane and material handling solutions.
Daily responsibilities include developing and implementing quality plans, conducting inspections and tests on components and finished products, and monitoring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
The role involves investigating non-conformities, performing root cause analysis, and driving corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
The Quality Engineer will also maintain quality documentation, support audits and certifications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to improve product and process quality.
- Proficiency in Quality Control activities, including welding, inspection, testing, measurement, and use of relevant tools and instruments.
- Hands-on experience in Quality Assurance, such as developing procedures, work instructions, and audit programs to ensure compliance.
- Proven ability to manage Product Quality and Quality Management systems, including root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Familiarity with ISO standards and industry best practices in manufacturing or heavy industry; crane or material handling experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and support a culture of safety and quality.
- Ability to work on-site in an industrial environment in Umm Al-Quwain, with readiness for occasional visits to client sites as needed.
- Formation of Quality Control Plan project-wise and control over its execution.
- · Inspection of incoming materials.
- · Inspection of welding compliance of welding parameters with approved WPS, PQR, WPQR, NDT.
- · Dimensional control of end products.
- · Painting control.
- · Electrical commissioning report in compliance with customer specification and applicable standards.
- · Witnessing of factory acceptance test of produced equipment functionality in compliance with order confirmation specification.
- · Witnessing of packing and marking of delivered equipment in compliance with procedure.
- · Recording of abovementioned reports inside system project-wise.
- · Formation of necessary documentation for quality control of customer.
- · Formation of non-conformity reports if observed during quality control.
- · timely certifications of workers and tools involved in production and installation process and must maintain an overview list of certifications/maintenance.
