Overview
A premier Saudi Arabian entertainment and hospitality company owned by the PIF.
Was founded in 1997 as the nation’s first athlete representation agency, has now evolved into a global developer of iconic destinations and spectacular live experiences.
The Quality Engineer in the event fabrication workshop is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated elements — event structures, exhibition stands, scenic sets, and custom props — meet defined quality, finish, and structural standards before dispatch or on-site installation.
Working under the Quality Manager, this role conducts inspections at key production stages, identifies non-conformances, drives corrective actions, and supports a culture of quality across all workshop disciplines.
The ideal candidate combines a sharp technical eye with strong knowledge of fabrication processes and a systematic approach to quality assurance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Quality Inspection & Control
- In-Process Inspections: Conduct structured quality checks at defined production stages across carpentry, metalwork, printing, foam work, and painting.
- Pre-Dispatch Inspection: Perform final QC checks on all finished items before dispatch, verifying compliance with approved technical drawings and client-approved samples.
- On-Site QC Support: Carry out quality inspections during and after installation to confirm installed elements meet design and finish standards.
- Drawing Verification: Cross-reference fabricated outputs against technical drawings, specifications, and approved mock-ups.
• Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR): Document, log, and track all quality defects or non-conformances identified during production.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate recurring quality issues and identify root causes to support
- corrective and preventive actions.
- Rework Coordination: Liaise with the Production Manager to prioritize and oversee rework tasks, ensuring corrected items meet quality standards before re-inspection.
• Quality Systems & Documentation
- Inspection Records: Maintain accurate inspection logs, QC checklists, and defect reports for all projects.
- Quality Standards: Support the Quality Manager in developing, updating, and communicating quality standards, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
- Reporting: Prepare daily and project-level quality status reports for submission to the Quality Manager.
- Process Improvement
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve fabrication processes, reduce defect rates, and improve first-pass quality.
- Training Support: Assist in conducting quality awareness sessions and on-the-floor coaching for workshop staff.
• Health, Safety & Compliance (HSE)
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all HSE protocols during inspections in both workshop and on-site environments.
- Hazard Identification: Flag any quality or safety hazards observed during inspections to the relevant manager.
- Experience: 3–5 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in an event fabrication, fit-out, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of fabrication techniques across carpentry, metalwork, printing, foam work, and painting.
- Drawing Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and approved samples.
- QC Tools: Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment; experience with NCR systems and QC documentation.
- Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with quality management software is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred; ISO 9001 awareness or auditor certification is an advantage.
- Methodical, assertive, and effective communicator capable of working across multiple teams and disciplines
Typical Working Conditions
- Environment: Must be able to work in a workshop environment, which may include loud noise, dust, and heat, with some on-site installation work.
- Hours: May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet event deadlines.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle tight deadlines and to work on site, which may include lifting, standing for long periods, and working in varied conditions.
