The opportunity

As an Aerospace Quality Engineer at Ontic, you'll support our aerospace manufacturing operations by helping ensure products and processes meet customer, engineering, regulatory and Quality Management System requirements.

You'll take ownership of assigned products and programs, working across nonconformance management, First Article Inspections, root cause investigations and corrective actions. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Inspection, customers and suppliers, you'll have the opportunity to solve technical challenges and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing environment.

What you'll be doing

Support assigned aerospace products, programs and manufacturing processes, reviewing drawings, specifications, customer requirements and quality flow-downs.

Manage nonconformance reports, Material Review Board activities and corrective actions, ensuring quality issues are documented and resolved effectively.

Perform and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and support their timely and accurate completion.

Lead or support root cause and corrective action investigations, using structured problem-solving methods to address defects, escapes and recurring quality issues.

Analyze defects, returns and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities and help reduce recurrence.

Partner with Engineering, Operations and Inspection to resolve product and process issues, while providing technical quality guidance.

Support customer, supplier, internal and regulatory quality investigations and audits while maintaining accurate quality metrics and documentation.

What you'll bring

Typically 5–7 years of aerospace Quality Engineering or manufacturing experience.

An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001, AS9102 First Article Inspection, nonconformance and Material Review Board processes, and root cause and corrective action.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), along with knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and inspection processes.

Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods such as 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), as well as quality metrics and basic statistical analysis.

Familiarity with mechanical inspection and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) concepts, along with Microsoft Office.

Desirable: ASQ, Six Sigma, IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification, and experience with Net-Inspect, DISCUS, ERP or electronic Quality Management Systems.
