Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance (QA) Manager role based in Basra.
The QA Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems in alignment with corporate, client, and regulatory standards for oil and gas engineering and construction projects.
Responsibilities
include establishing and maintaining QA policies and procedures, preparing and reviewing quality plans, ITPs, and method statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
The role involves planning and overseeing audits and inspections, coordinating with construction, engineering, HSE, and procurement teams, monitoring the rectification of non-conformities, and maintaining accurate quality documentation and records.
The QA Manager will also provide coaching and training on quality requirements, support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, and regularly report quality performance, trends, and risks to project and senior management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality management for large-scale oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial EPC or construction projects, with strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, API, ASME, ASTM).
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems, including QA plans, procedures, ITPs, NCR/CAR processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with quality auditing and inspection activities, including internal and external audits, vendor and site inspections, and preparation of related reports and documentation.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis, risk assessment, and problem-solving, with a structured approach to corrective and preventive actions and follow-up.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
