Role Description
The Quality Assurance Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing and improving clinical and operational quality across referral services.
In this role, you will design, implement, and monitor quality assurance protocols, including documentation standards, checklists, and process controls for veterinary procedures and client communication.
You will regularly review medical records, case reports, and workflows to identify gaps, non-conformities, and opportunities for standardization and improvement.
The position involves analyzing quality metrics, preparing concise reports, and recommending corrective and preventive actions to leadership and partner clinics.
You will also coordinate internal audits, support compliance with relevant professional and ethical standards, and provide training or guidance to team members on best practices in quality and patient safety.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality management, preferably in healthcare or veterinary services, with a strong understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g., PDCA, root cause analysis).
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards, SOPs, and audit tools for clinical and administrative workflows.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, including the ability to interpret data, generate clear reports, and track quality indicators over time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote, multi-disciplinary teams and partner organizations.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote, part-time setting.
- Background in veterinary medicine, animal health, or human healthcare quality is highly desirable; professional certification in quality or patient safety is a plus.
- Comfort with digital collaboration tools and electronic record systems; ability to adapt to new software used for case management and quality tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., veterinary science, animal health, healthcare management, quality management, or similar); advanced degree or specialized training is an advantage.
