Role Description

The Quality Assurance Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing and improving quality processes across RIC Robotics products and operations.

This role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining quality management frameworks, test plans, and documentation to ensure that hardware, software, and integrated robotic systems meet defined standards and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day tasks include reviewing specifications, defining acceptance criteria, coordinating and executing test activities, analyzing defects and root causes, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to prevent recurring issues.

The Quality Assurance Manager will track quality metrics, prepare reports for leadership, and support audits and compliance activities as needed.

This role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, risk assessment, and training team members on quality best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading or managing quality assurance processes, including test planning, test execution, and defect management.
  • Background in hardware, software, or robotics quality, with familiarity in systems integration testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, frameworks, or regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar), and experience supporting audits or compliance activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and collaborate across remote, cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with quality and project tracking tools (e.g., test management systems, issue trackers, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet agreed timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Quality Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Commitment to inclusive, respectful teamwork and continuous improvement in both processes and products.
