Job Summary
The incumbent will assist QNB Capital’s team with translation requests under the supervision of QNB Capital’s Managing Director.
The incumbent will draft, translate, review or proofread the translation of a range of materials, including official correspondence, letters, presentations, speeches, emails, and financial/legal documents, among others.
The incumbent will ensure that all translated documents are formatted and presented appropriately in standard business formats using Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
The incumbent will assist the QNB Capital team with various tasks that require Arabic language skills.
• Shareholder & Financial
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Translator
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
• Customer (Internal & External)
- Deliver translations in line with the requirements of QNB Capital senior management
- Assist and undertake the translation (Arabic into English and vice versa) of various materials
- Assist the verification and proof-reading of all translations provided from external sources
- Work closely with QNB Capital’s team to finalize any deliverables that are required to be submitted to clients, regulators or any other external parties in Arabic.
- Work closely with the QNB Capital team in preparing the translation of documents related to regulatory submissions
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group's objectives.
- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

- Maintain professional competence related to all activities, events and developments of financial services and capital markets related activities, laws, standards and regulations.
- Identify related areas for self-professional development and act to enhance self-professional development.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.

- Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defense principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
- Other:
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need-to-know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.
- All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
- Act with integrity, competence, diligence, respect, and in an ethical manner with the public, clients, prospective clients, employers, employees, colleagues.
- Place the integrity of the investment profession and the interests of clients above their own personal interests.
- Practice in a professional and ethical manner.
Education And Experience Requirements
- University Degree in translation or law or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in translations or legal services.
- Proficiency in all standard business software applications, office communication tools and technologies with excellent skills in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Finance, Banking, Economics and Legal concepts and terms is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (including report writing) in English and Arabic.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Understanding of the relevant laws, regulations, and practices.
- Ability to make decisions and follow through with initiatives.
- Personal integrity and self-management.
- Planning, organizing, and analytical ability.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work in a project-based environment.
- Knowledge of graphic and narrative techniques for the presentation of data.
