Role overview

Quality assurance and control

• Develop and monitor Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and project-specific quality procedures.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality requirements before work execution.
• Inspect materials, equipment, fabrication, installation, and construction; verify submittals, certificates, records, and test reports.
• Conduct site inspections and witness tests, including testing and commissioning where applicable.
• Raise non-conformance reports, track corrective and preventive actions, and verify closure.
• Maintain quality records, coordinate quality issue resolution, support audits, and ensure complete handover documentation.

Health, safety, and environment

• Implement HSE policies, project safety plans, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis, routine site inspections, and safety compliance checks.
• Monitor PPE use, safe work procedures, Permit-to-Work requirements, housekeeping, equipment safety, and site access.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for employees, contractors, and site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and monitor pollution prevention, spill control, waste disposal, and resource conservation.
• Stop or escalate unsafe work and significant quality or environmental risks in accordance with delegated authority.

Integrated compliance and improvement

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve compliance issues.
• Support audits, client and regulatory inspections, and management reviews; prepare consolidated QA/QC and HSE reports.
• Monitor recurring defects, unsafe practices, incidents, and non-conformities; recommend preventive measures and improved work methods.
• Promote quality workmanship, safe practices, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment, EPC, construction, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience with inspections, material verification, inspection and test plans, site safety monitoring, and risk assessments.
• Experience preparing QA/QC and HSE documentation, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and managing corrective actions.

Knowledge and capabilities

• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, relevant ASME/AWWA standards, and local HSE regulations, as applicable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Strong QA/QC, HSE, analytical, problem-solving, inspection, reporting, communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify risks, prioritize corrective actions, and work independently at project sites; proficiency in MS Office and project documentation tools.
• Relevant QA/QC, occupational health and safety, or environmental management certifications are an added advantage.
