Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and experienced QA/QC Welding Inspector to join our steel structure construction project in Saudi Arabia.
The candidate will be responsible for welding quality inspection, material verification, documentation control, and ensuring that all welding activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, international standards, and client requirements.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience in steel structure fabrication and erection works, welding inspection, NDT coordination, and quality documentation for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Conduct daily welding inspections at fabrication yard and/or construction site.
2.
Inspect fit-up, joint preparation, welding parameters, welding consumables, preheating, inter-pass temperature, and final weld appearance.
3.
Verify welding activities according to approved WPS, PQR, ITP, method statements, drawings, and project specifications.
4.
Check welder qualification records and ensure only approved welders are assigned to welding work.
5.
Coordinate and witness NDT activities, including VT, MT, PT, UT, and RT when required.
6.
Review NDT reports and follow up on welding repairs, re-inspection, and closure of NCRs.
7.
Inspect steel structure materials, welding consumables, bolts, plates, beams, and related components as per approved material certificates and project requirements.
8.
Prepare and maintain quality records, inspection reports, welding reports, RFI, NCR, MIR, and other QA/QC documentation.
9.
Monitor compliance with applicable standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME, ISO, ASTM, AISC, or project-specific standards.
10.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, client, consultant, and third-party inspection teams.
11.
Identify quality issues at site and propose corrective and preventive actions.
12.
Ensure all welding and steel structure activities comply with project quality requirements and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
1.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Civil Engineering, or related technical field.
2.
Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC welding inspection, preferably in steel structure projects.
3.
Experience in steel structure fabrication, erection, welding inspection, and site quality control.
4.
Familiar with international welding and steel structure standards, especially AWS D1.1.
