Role overview

The QA Engineer performs manual and automated testing of software products to ensure quality and functionality.

The role works with developers and testers to find and resolve defects and improve testing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Participate across the software development lifecycle, including test planning, test case design, automation, execution, and defect reporting.
  • Generate test data for identified test scenarios and cases.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks, such as Playwright.
  • Align and execute automated regression testing across environments.
  • Assist with release management and maintain healthy test environments.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
  • Stay current with testing methods and tools and contribute to process improvement.

Key criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or related equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of software testing experience; manual or automation experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
  • Test automation techniques for API and service layers and experience with frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright.
  • Basic understanding of .NET or a scripting language such as C#, TypeScript, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality, communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Technology stack

  • The technology stack includes Angular, TypeScript, .NET Framework and .NET Core (C#), ASP.NET MVC and Web API, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
  • The team uses Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery, and Playwright for end-to-end testing.

Work arrangement

  • The role is based in Richmond and offers a flexible hybrid arrangement.
