Role overview

Mid-level QA Engineer in the QA department, reporting to the Head of QA.

Develops automated testing and supporting tools for software and hardware products, while contributing to manual testing and development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python automated test frameworks and scripts; identify automation opportunities and build reusable test suites.
  • Validate features, products, and bug fixes across platforms; maintain tools supporting continuous testing and reporting.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI, troubleshoot automation issues, and conduct manual testing for complex or new features.
  • Create test plans, cases, and documentation; review code and work with developers to integrate test coverage early.
  • Monitor and report results, issues, and risks; support the QA team with testing practices, tools, and Python expertise.

Required experience and knowledge

  • High proficiency in Python and experience maintaining larger Python projects in a team.
  • Strong understanding of software development, QA processes, and automated testing.
  • Experience with version control such as Git, and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking and test management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, hardware, and APIs; ability to troubleshoot technical issues with developers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills; attention to detail and adaptability.

Additional advantages

  • Video technology knowledge and experience with live events, broadcast, media servers, or real-time video pipelines are a plus.
  • Ability to read C++ and experience with other programming languages such as Go are a plus.
