Purchaser / Procurement Officer – Contracting Company

Overview

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum **5–7 years** of procurement experience in a contracting/construction company.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Experience in sourcing construction materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of:
• Construction materials and market rates
• Procurement procedures and supplier management
• Local suppliers and UAE market
• Negotiation and cost comparison
• Purchase orders and inventory control
• Contract terms and delivery coordination
• Familiarity with ERP/procurement software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services.
• Obtain quotations and prepare comparison statements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and stores.
• Maintain supplier database and evaluate vendor performance.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid project delays.
• Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Verify material quality and compliance with project specifications.
