Job Summary
We are looking for a Purchase Officer with 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or beverage/alcohol industry procurement.
The candidate should have strong knowledge of vendor management, SAP, MIS reporting, material planning, and commercial negotiations.
The role requires coordination with production, stores, finance, and vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, consumables, and services.
- Generate Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotations, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment follow-ups.
- Conduct commercial negotiations to achieve cost optimization and better procurement terms.
- Maintain vendor database and develop alternate vendors for critical items.
- Prepare and maintain MIS reports related to procurement, pending orders, consumption analysis, and vendor performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams to avoid stock shortages.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials as per production requirements.
- Support audit documentation and compliance processes related to procurement.
- Track market trends, pricing, and supply risks for strategic purchasing decisions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SAP MM module.
- Good understanding of MIS reporting and data analysis.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes in the manufacturing/alco-beverage industry.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in brewery, distillery, FMCG, or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Engineering background is mandatory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
