PT Press Break Operator

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Operate flat and tube laser equipment, including Durma systems.
• Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment to bend and form steel components.
• Read fabrication drawings, job travelers, and production instructions.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality using measuring tools.
• Perform basic adjustments, minor maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Sort, package, stage, and move materials to the next production process.
• Collaborate with production and design teams and participate in cross-training and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 1 year of press brake machine experience is listed in the employment details.
• Experience operating laser cutting and/or CNC press brake equipment is preferred.
• Candidates must read fabrication drawings and use basic measuring tools.
• Candidates must maintain quality while working efficiently and follow established procedures.
• Candidates must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks and safely handle steel materials.
• Candidates must use personal protective equipment and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Forklift experience is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks drawings is considered an asset.
• Experience with Metalix or other nesting software is considered an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork are valued.

Work Environment

• The position is located at the Fergus, Ontario manufacturing facility and requires reliable commuting to the facility.
• Work takes place around lasers, press brakes, machinery, noise, sharp edges, and other fabrication conditions.
• The position requires standing, bending, reaching, crouching, and moving for extended periods.

Compensation and Schedule

• This is a part-time position with expected hours of no more than 30 per week.
• Pay is $21.00 to $27.00 per hour based on experience and demonstrated skill.
