Project Manager - Product Development (12-Month Contract)

Role overview

Project delivery and coordination

• Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables from new product introduction through commercial scale-up and ongoing manufacturing.
• Coordinate work with contract manufacturers, external vendors, engineering partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain project tools, best practices, dashboards, schedules, action trackers, and meeting cadences.
• Coordinate engineering and development teams around strategic commercial goals.
• Implement product roadmaps and manage product lifecycle transformations.

Manufacturing operations and compliance

• Identify and address manufacturing bottlenecks, supply chain constraints, and resource allocation conflicts.
• Ensure operations meet regulatory requirements, environmental health and safety protocols, and internal quality management system requirements.

Background and experience

• A degree or diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Business Operations, or a related technical field is required.
• At least five years of project management or product management experience is required; hardware development, cleantech, or deep-tech manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience coordinating technical projects across engineering, manufacturing, QA/QC, suppliers, and contract manufacturers is required.
• Demonstrated hardware product development and contract manufacturing experience scaling laboratory prototypes into production lines is required.
• Familiarity with agile or traditional project management frameworks, project tools, engineering workflows, and operations dashboards is sought.
• Familiarity with quality gates, build readiness, FAT/SAT, or manufacturing documentation is an asset.
• Formal project management training such as PMP and/or an MBA is an asset.

Workplace

• This is a hybrid position with a minimum of three days per week onsite in Kitchener, Ontario.

Schedule and contract

• This is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role.
• The work week is 40 hours.

Compensation

• The stated salary is $100,000–$125,000 per year.
