Role overview
Oversee industrial and commercial floor coating projects from initial site survey and planning through preparation, application, quality control, and client handover.
The role combines technical coating knowledge with management of site teams, clients, materials, equipment, quality, and timelines.
Project delivery
- Manage projects from site assessment through execution and handover; review specifications, drawings, manufacturer recommendations, and site requirements.
- Plan manpower, materials, equipment, schedules, and execution methods; coordinate grinding, shot blasting, and other surface preparation.
- Oversee epoxy, polyurethane/urethane, polyaspartic, and other industrial floor coating applications.
- Assess concrete substrates for moisture, hardness, contamination, and condition; ensure surfaces meet ICRI CSP or applicable standards.
- Monitor temperature, relative humidity, substrate temperature, and dew point; control mixing ratios, pot life, WFT/DFT, curing, and recoat intervals.
- Resolve substrate and application issues, including risks of peeling, blistering, pinholes, and delamination.
- Ensure HSE compliance for dust, chemicals, VOC exposure, and PPE; manage variations, repairs, and change orders.
- Coordinate DFT, adhesion, and slip-resistance testing where required; maintain reports, inspection records, environmental readings, and batch information.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams; manage snagging, final inspection, and handover.
Candidate profile
- Proven experience managing floor coating, resin flooring, epoxy flooring, or industrial flooring projects.
- Strong knowledge of concrete surface preparation, coating application, inspection, environmental controls, WFT/DFT, adhesion testing, curing, and common defects.
- Familiarity with epoxy, polyurethane/urethane, polyaspartic, and similar resin flooring systems.
- Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, materials, equipment, schedules, and client requirements.
- Strong project planning, problem-solving, communication, and client management skills.
- A relevant engineering, construction, coatings, or technical qualification is preferred.
